Bullying and Stalking Investigations

There has been a rise in the last couple of years of what is termed as bullying. It is seen most often in schools between classmates, playgrounds, and sports fields. However it is also a new phenomenon for people to just come up to another unknown person in public and either severely beat them or hurt them in some manner. Intimidation and emotional / physical pain is usually what the giver is interested in making their target live and deal with. Sherman TX Bullying Priavte Investigator

Stalking, likewise, has been in the news. In many instances a stalker may use harassment techniques such as annoying phone calls, emails, text messages or letters, following in vehicles and etc., to gain the attention of his or her intended recipient. At times it can escalate into an assault or homicide, although it is not very common. Due to an offender's erratic and unpredictable behavior, it can be hard to predict what a stalker will do next or how far they will go. Whether your situation involves an individual you know intimately, such as a jealous ex-husband, wife, a work colleague, or friend, stalking is a crime that can leave you psychologically traumatized, scared, and emotionally drained.

Are you being stalked? Bullied? You shouldn't live in fear. Oftentimes law enforcement cannot do anything until an actual crime or incident has been committed. That could be too late. If you believe you have a problem, Buckshot Investigations is here to assist you in identifying and dealing with such problems. Schedule an appointment today to discuss these very serious situations. We will work diligently and use every investigative technique that we can to provide you with the information you need to catch the offender and/or press charges.

In 2014, the Centers for Disease Control and Department of Education released the first federal uniform definition of bullying for research and surveillance.

Sherman TX Bullying

The definition includes: unwanted aggressive behavior; observed or perceived power imbalance; and repetition of behaviors or high likelihood of repetition. There are many different modes and types of bullying.

The current definition acknowledges two modes and four types by which youth can be bullied or can bully others. The two modes of bullying include direct (e.g., bullying that occurs in the presence of a targeted youth) and indirect (e.g., bullying not directly communicated to a targeted youth such as spreading rumors). In addition to these two modes, the four types of bullying include broad categories of physical, verbal, relational (e.g., efforts to harm the reputation or relationships of the targeted youth), and damage to property.

Bullying can happen in any number of places, contexts, or locations. Sometimes that place is online or through a cell phone. Bullying that occurs using technology (including but not limited to phones, email, chat rooms, instant messaging, and online posts) is considered electronic bullying and is viewed as a context or location. Electronic bullying or cyber bullying involves primarily verbal aggression (e.g., threatening or harassing electronic communications) and relational aggression (e.g., spreading rumors electronically). Electronic bullying or cyberbullying can also involve property damage resulting from electronic attacks that lead to the modification, dissemination, damage, or destruction of a youth's privately stored electronic information.  Some bullying actions can fall into criminal categories, such as harassment, hazing, or assault.
